TOGETHER WE’RE STRONGER!

Look what we got!! An original “Squig” for The Episcopal Actors’ Guild’s “Making A Difference” logo!! As a member of EAG’s Council this year, I volunteered to serve on the “Celebrity Committee,” helping the organization create their event — and give a mini-tribute to how very much A Chorus Line has “made a difference” in so very, very many lives — internationally — most of all to my husband and myself. Kathy Conry, trusted friend from our Rehearsal Club circle came up with a fabulous idea — use a young, next generation performer currently performing on Broadway to learn “One,” …

GOING HOME!!

Who knew? The universe works in mysterious ways, we all know that . . . This summer, Steve and I created a little Shakespeare Alive AidsWalk(NY) Team — consisting of just us. We’ve walked the walk since the ’80’s in honor of so many of our friends began dancing with the angels. Our support has taken different turns along the way . . . I stayed home with the “babies” for a couple of those early years; later taking our daughters to walk the challenging walk all through Central Park, over to Riverside Drive and back downtown with “gay” entertainment …

After the ball is over . . .

Our Cinderellas danced and sang and shared heart and soul with all who came to celebrate the magic and publication of “Cinderellas of West 53rd Street: Stories from the Legendary Rehearsal Club! Now what? None of us like waiting for the phone to ring so we are all continuing to create while finding our next “Corner of the Sky” as Stephen Schwartz so brilliantly wrote for Pippin — and our “Rising Stars,” Julia Adams and Sofie Hans opened our Cinderella Cabaret with heartbreaking brilliance. Check them and all the other Cinderellas and Friends in this “teaser” video: My goodness it …

Cinderellas On The Move!

WE DID IT!! We met the Prince (metaphorically speaking) — WE PUBLISHED!! Our journey with Bear Manor Media as our publishers was fraught with as many challenges as Cinderella had getting herself to the ball. If you were in our intimate “circle of friends,” you received newsletters with play-by-play episodes. Even the one using this image: Metaphorically-speaking, that’s me crying in the lap of the universe thinking “we’re NEVER gonna get published!!” OMG! Every actor: “. . . never gonna work again!” Well, I’m here to say: “Never say NEVER!” With a lotta help from our Godmother/Bear Manor Media, we …

CROSSING THE MOAT

It takes a village . . . godmothers . . . magic wands . . . and restoking the fire before miracles are allowed to happen. That’s a universal rule, I’m sure of it. For those who are new to the Cinderella Journey, our memoir book, Cinderellas of West 53rd Street, percolated as an idea early in the 21st Century. Writers came and went, but those who stayed the course will soon see publication! Not on the level of the political blockbusters chronicling the history of these United States, but rather a reflection of we, the people, working in the …

2020 Vision

Romans 12:2: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” OK, so I tried that . . . bit the bullet and took the steps to apply to Julliard for my Masters Degree. Yeah, I know . . . at this age? In Acting?? Really? What an awesome learning/growing experience to just apply! It’s not like applying to an academic college. All those A’s in my transcripts from my BA hold little value. The “recommendations,” the essay, the prepared monologues! Now, if I was on the other side of that table, …
