Cinderella’s Castle Ahead!

Cinderella’s of West 53rd Street:
Stories from the Legendary Rehearsal Club

Out of the above, broken-down brownstone — my first “home” in NYC — the women of the RC have shown what a little collective creativity can achieve!

Former residents of the RC are now putting the finishing touches to our memoir book to be published in December by Bear Manor Media. I may be doing the grunt work to make it all happen (thank you PBW&T & all those years creating briefs for the courts of NY!), however without all our women in support, this would NOT be happening. TRC Incorporation has created a bit of a schism at this point, now that our mom & pop entity, Boockvor Productions, is no longer needed to help raise funding for events. However, all those tales will be told under the Boockvor Productions umbrella, along with original voices from the real Stage Door.

We’re all looking forward to performing the original music we inspired for Good Girls Only: The Rehearsal Club Musical, written by my friend, Charles Leipart with a variety of composers — at every book signing possible across the country! Hello TV World! We could use some big-time, media outlets shouting our praises! As with everything else we’ve produced, I have great faith this, too, will reflect the heart of our community — unique and different from the norm. Why? Because although we were in competition, we were also in support of each other’s success.

As we were sending the book around to various publishers, there was a question about how/why so many stories reflected the same “support” for each other. A recent publication around the Barbizon Hotel — the “rich bitches” went there — reflected the isolation and LACK of community. Everyone was on their own. What a sad place to live when you’re trying to figure out who you are in this world. Coming from money does NOT always help.

Steve and I built what little we have — and we have a LOT to point to — from nothing. No “connections.” No favors. No golden spoon. And there’s more. I can feel it. No idea where or how it will manifest, but yes, this Year of the Tiger is HUGE for us. Stay tuned!

Throughout Covid, we ran zoom readings of Shakespeare’s plays. We produced 16 plays and have 18 more to go! Page Clements, who teaches #Shakespeare at T. Schreiber, has been giving us an “Overview” of each play and will now be reading with us! She had a blast reading Measure For Measure — our last in May, 2022. Starting up again in September. TBD
