ANOTHER RED CARPET RIDE!

This event basically created The Rehearsal Club's ability to incorporate in 2019. The women of The Rehearsal Club had substantiated a way to "give back" to the industry by creating a bridge for the next generation to meet industry casting directors and agents - all culled from our personal networks - much the same way living at the West 53rd Street famed theatrical residence, gave each of us a step up to the professional world.

Lee Kelley, Centennial Chair, awarded the first "Rising Star Key" at our Centennial Players Club event to Diane Phelan. Online competition only, however, we chose a recognized Broadway talent today.

Kathleen Conry, Michele Mason and I, as current Chair, were in the trenches for the 105th Anniversary Event at The Players where the cabaret competition went live. To supplement the all-in-one-evening event, our "star" friends donated their gowns for auction (raising funds for the potential documentary thru NYWIFT) and theatrical schools in the NYC area submitted their "top talents" to compete cabaret style.

Lethabo Mofomme won our 2nd Rising Star Key Award

Because each of the contestants were chosen by their schools as being Top Talents, we felt they were ALL winners. Julia Adams, especially, has continued to paticipate with her Rehearsal Club sisters, submitting "testimonials" to our 2020 Toast and again for the 2021 Tribute "Teaser" for the next Rising Star Competition postponed to 2022 (due to Covid); and participating in the ongoing Shakespeare Workshop Reading Series (now sponsored by History Alive!)
